Stuart R. Selkirk spent his youth in the woods when he wasn’t roasting marshmallows while camping with the Boy Scouts he could be found in a blind hunting with his father.

He learned all he could about being outdoors and practiced his newfound skills every chance he had.

After high school Stuart went to Hampshire college where he utilized the 5-College System to take courses in; Latin American, Caribbean, and Latino Studies, as well as Middle Eastern Studies, and Native American Indian Studies. He had hoped to learn about how they survived and more importantly thrived without the use of modern technology. Sadly, for Hampshire College, this was not the case. He left after 3 semesters and immediately enlisted in the Army. He was a three time volunteer; Volunteered Infantry. Volunteered Airborne, and Volunteered Ranger. His time in the back country gave him an edge in all of his training opening numerous doors for him; Sapper Leader Course, Air Assault School, Pathfinder School, Special Forces Training, and most importantly Jungle Operations Training Center (JOTC). He spent his time in the 25th Infantry Division and later the 7th Special Forces.

After participating in numerous actions, missions, and conflicts around the world Selkirk became a survival instructor. He was recommended to the Joe Team by Recondo who had taken his course after hearing about it through the grapevine.

- What the fuck did they do?! - That question was asked hours ago.

The man known as Outback had heard the rumors about rouge military units killing civilians and stealing their supplies. Now he had witnessed it. 21 survivors. He'll never forget them; nine men, two boys, seven women, and three girls. At first he thought they were going to check them for infection, which they did. What came next shocked him to the core. The men and boys were lined up, forced to kneel in the street, and shot execution style. The women and girls… Three fought bravely, one was even able to send two Marines to their graves as she successfully pulled one of their sidearms. The others…

The blood has cooled and become sticky on his hands. He looks at the aftermath, “Wh-wh-what have I done?”

The cries of his victims ringing in his ears.
